WHITE BREASTED BOY, THE. Irish, Air (3/4 time). B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. Stanford (1905) notes that two untitled tunes in Petrie’s collection, Nos. 72 and 140, are variants. See also cognate melodies "Skylark (2) (The)" and "Lark in the Clear Air (1)," and the ancestral traditional air "Caisleán Uí Néill/O'Neill's Castle."

Source for notated version: - “Mrs. Close” [Stanford/Petrie]. Mrs. Close was a friend of artist and collector George Petrie (1790-1866) and was originally from County Galway.
