The tune is associated with County Leitrim flute player Hughie Travers, who played in the Dublin Metropolitan Garda Ceili Band with whom he recorded a few 78 RPM records in the 1930's. Later it became associated with County Clare concertina player Tommy McMahon, who recorded it on his 1975 TOPIC LP, "Clare Concertinas."
