French-Canadian, Reel (cut time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBAABBAACC'C"C'". Soucy researcher Jean Duval notes that "Quadrille des Laurentides 5ème partie" was the second time Soucy recorded a version of this tune; the first was in 1925 under the title "Set américain 2ème partie (Soucy)." His older contemporary, Joseph Allard (1872-1947) recorded a version he called "Reel de l'hôtelier," in turn covered by radio and TV fiddler Don Messer as "Chamberlain Reel (The)."
