FOUNTAIN'S HORNPIPE. AKA and see "Enrico," "Mountcashel's Brigade," "Reel de la jument grise." Irish, Hornpipe (cut time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune appears under the "Fountain's Hornpipe" title in the music manuscript collection of County Cork uilleann piper and cleric James Goodman (vol. 1, p. 58 [1]), along with the alternate title "Miss Lacey's." Fr. John Quinn finds the tune to be cognate with Enrico

(AKA "Jacob") in English tradition, and also as the second and third strains of the Irish march "Mountcashel's Brigade." See also the first strain of "Jockey Hornpipe (The)." Fr. Quinn also finds "Fountain's Hornpipe" cognate with an untitled tune in County Leitrim fiddler and piper Stephen Grier's 1883 music manuscript collection.
