JIG [50]. Irish, Double Jig (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune was entered into Book 3 of the large music manuscript collection of County Leitrim fiddler and piper biography:Stephen Grier (c. 1824-1894) as an untitled jig. Grier researchers Fr. John Quinn and Conor Ward find the tune cognate with the tune family that includes "Angry Peeler (The)," "Away to the Bogs,""Bernie Cunnion's Favourite," "Boys of Thomastown (The)," "Caffler's Courtship (The)," "Cúiglú Lassies," "Fardown Farmer (The)," "Father O'Carroll," "Green Fields of Miltron (The)," and others.
