BLUE BREECHES, THE. Irish, Reel (cut time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Blue Breeches" is found in a couple of fiddlers' manuscript collections from County Leitrim/County Longford. Researcher Conor Ward finds the tune to be a reel-time setting, and perhaps a derivative, of the jig family that includes "Fan Mar Táir a Chlaidhre!," "Jackson's Lodge (2)," "Stay As You Are You Rogue!," "Stay where you are," and "Shun the Corner."
