MOUNTAIN ROAD [3], THE. Irish, Slide (12/8 time). E Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. No relation to "Mountain Road (2) (The)." Fr. John Quinn finds the tune to be a member of a tune family that includes "Garrett Barry's Jig," "Port an Achréidh," "Second Cousin (The)," "Sergeant Early’s Jig," and "Moving Bog (7) (The)", the latter in both slide and duple-time versions.
