CUZ TEAHAN'S DELIGHT. AKA – "Cousin's Delight," "Terry 'Cuz' Teahan's Polka (2)." Irish, Polka (2/4 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The story goes that Terry Teahan (1905-1989, originally from Glountane, south County Kerry) earned the moniker 'Cuz' when he worked for the Chicago fire department. When he would meet a likely Irish musician who was jobless, he would direct him to the firehouse with instructions to inform the powers that be he was Terry's cousin and was here for the job. The composition is sometimes attributed to Teahan, but his name does not appear with the tune in Paul Deloughery's 1980 book of tunes from Teahan's repertory (although there are numerous others recording Teahan as the composer).
