Originally from N:Tullymet, near Pitlochry, Perthshire. He moved to London in the last decade N:of his life. "Lady Charlotte Goold's Reel" was composed by Edinburgh fiddler-composer biography:Robert Mackintosh and printed in his Fourth Collection of New Strathspey Reels (c. 1804). Lady Charlotte was perhaps the Lady Charlotte Goold (d. 1852, née Browne), daughter of Valentine Browne, 1st Earl of Kenmare, and his first wife, Charlotte Dillon. She married Sir George Goold, 2nd Baronet, in the year 1802.
