DUTCH SKIPPER [7], THE. AKA and see "Turk's March (2)." English, Country Dance or March (whole time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The melody appears in the 1840 music manuscript of Cumbian musician John Rook. This particular "Dutch Skipper" melody does not seem to appear in printed collections under that title. "Calgarth Hornpipe's" first two measures are identical, but the rest of the tune differs.
