FIELD OF OATS, THE (Pairc an coirce). AKA and see "Set canadien 2ème partie." Irish, Reel (cut time). E Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'B (O'Neill/1850 & 1001): AA'BB' (O'Neill/Krassen). Francis O'Neill did not give a source for the tune, other than himself, and where he might have learned it is unknown. Canadian fiddler J. Alex Donato recorded the tune in 1924 under the title "Set canadien 2ème partie."
