BELLE CATHERINE [3], LA. AKA and see "Reel des noces." French-Canadian, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBAACCAA. The source for this reel, a staple of modern Quebecois repertory, is Louis "Pitou" Boudreault (1905-1988) of Chicoutimi, Quebec. See also Isidore Soucy's "Reel du plaisir," which uses the 2nd strain of "Belle Catherine," and Soucy's "Reel des millionaires," yet another version.
