The tune was recorded in New York in 1924 by County Sligo fiddler Michael Coleman as the first melody in a set of schottisches issued as "Killarney Wonder" on the record label. The tunes in the set are actually "Macroom Lasses" and "Finnea Lasses," but the name of the set on the influential recording has been transferred to both tunes (each of which is also referred to as "Killarney Wonder."
