The tune bears a close resemblance to “Wednesday Night Waltz.” The second strain is essentially the same as the first, transposed to to the key of 'G'. "Tennessee Waltz [1]" was recorded in Johnson City, Tennessee, in 1928 for Columbia records by the east Tennessee band the Roane County Ramblers, featuring Jimmy McCarroll on fiddle.
