TENNESSEE WALTZ [1]. AKA and see "Wednesday Night Waltz." American, Waltz (3/4 time). D Major ('A' part) & G Major ('B' part). Standard tuning (fiddle). AB. The tune bears a close resemblance to “Wednesday Night Waltz.” The second strain is essentially the same as the first, transposed to to the key of 'G'. "Tennessee Waltz [1]" was recorded in Johnson City, Tennessee, in 1928 for Columbia records by the east Tennessee band the Roane County Ramblers, featuring Jimmy McCarroll on fiddle.
