"The ... title refers to the fact that the best time to tame a Shetland pony is when the snow lies on the ground, because then they are hungry" (Boys of the Lough). A traditional reel "well known over most of the country districts of Shetland. The tune is a variant of the Shetland traditional song 'Boanie Tammy Scollay'" (Anderson).
