STAFFORDSHIRE MILITIA MARCH. AKA and see "Bologna's March," "Favorite Slow March (A)," "Hornsby's March." English, March (cut time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Staffordshire Militia March" can be found in the 1835-1841 music manuscript collection of Wyresdale, Lancashire, musician James Winder (No. 340). Lincolnshire musician James Winder included it in his manuscript collection at about the same time as "Hornsby's March," as did Cumbrian musician John Rook, as "Favorite Slow March (A)." However, earlier versions can be found in printed collections as "Bologna's March", a late 18th century tune associated with a performer in the Edinburgh circus,
