REEL DU PARC [1] (The Park’s Reel). AKA and see "Reel des moissonneurs (1)" (Reapers/Harvester's Reel). French-Canadian, Reel. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BB'. The 'A' part of the tune is shared with an untitled hornpipe in Kerr's Merry Melodies for the Violin vol. 1), c. 1880, p. 44). The reel was recorded twice by Montreal fiddler Joseph Allard; first in 1930 under his own name, and again in 1936 under the pseudonym ‘Maxime Toupin’. Allard recorded the melody a final time in 1942, released as "Reel des moissoneurs (1)," although Jean Duval finds in the Victor recording notes that the title was originally to have been "Reel du danseur" (Dancer's Reel).
