ESQR. LESSTAR. AKA - "Esquire Lessar." AKA and see "Next Oars," "Sheep-Shearers (The)." English, Triple Hornpipe (9/4 time) and Country Dance Tune. D Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCCDD. The melody was printed by Daniel Wright in his Extraordinary Collection of Pleasant and Merry Humours, etc. (1713). Curiously, the first two strains were collected more than a century later in Ireland by Irish musician and music collector John Edward Pigot (1822–1871) as "Sheep-Shearers (The)."
