SAILOR'S DELIGHT [2]. English, Triple Hornpipe (3/2 time). D Mixolydian. Standard tuning (fiddle). ABC. "Sailor's Delight [2]" is contained in the 1789-1841 music manuscripts of the Winder family, Lancashire. John Offord (1985) notes the musical relationship to "Altringham Round," but opines that the Winder version seems an awkward attempt to chivy a modal tune in the direction of a major mode.
