AIR [47]. AKA - "Leitrim Piper." AKA and see "Cader Idris," "Sweet Jenny Jones." Irish, Air (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'B. "Air [47]" is an untitled air contained in Book 3 (No. 268) of the large c. 1883 music manuscript collection of County Leitrim fiddler and piper biography:Stephen Grier. It was christened "Leitrim Piper" when printed in Breathnach & Small's Ceol Rince na hÉireann vol. 4 (1996) in a nod to their source for the tune, piper Grier. However, the tune is a cognate of the Welsh air "Cader Idris" or "Sweet Jenny Jones."
