LANCIER D'EMILIE, LE. French-Canadian, Reel (cut time). A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'BBCC'. The reel appears in J.A. Boucher's 1927 unprinted music collection, the precursor to his 1933 printed volume, albeit under the title "Gai luron"
Duval has found that many of the tunes in the 1927 collection had their titles changed for the 1933 volume. </ref>. Researcher Jean Duval believes this may be a composition by Boucher, and points to the third strain of the tune, which is different in the 1927 and 1933 versions of his collection. The third strain of 1927 is very similar to the first strain of fiddler Fortunat Malouin's "Reel de Rivière-du-Loup", and Duval posits that Boucher changed the third strain of his "Lancier..." as a result.
