REEL FEDERESSE. French-Canadian, Reel (2/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Researcher Jean Duval was puzzled by the title "Reel Federesse", which may or may not be a proper name. The second strain is shared with "Crooked Stovepipe," a reel recorded by the Canadian group The Cornhuskers in 1938. It appears in Boucher's 1927 music manuscript collection, precursor to his published 1933 volume, albeit with the generic title "Danse."
