MISS McLEOD'S FAVORITE. AKA and see "Lady Louisa Gordon," "Little Peggy's Love (2)," "Miss Farquharson of Invercauld's Strathspey (1)," "Peggy's Love." Scottish, “Slow” Strathspey. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. Composed by biography:William Marshall (1748-1833), who originally called it "Lady Louisa Gordon," after a daughter of his employer. A Scottish fiddler and composer, Marshall is most famous for his many fine strathspeys. Marshall worked for much of his life for the Duke of Gordon, employed as the Steward of his Household, and it is fortunate that the Duke was an enthusiastic supporter and patron of Marshall’s music.
