CALEDONIAN QUADRILLE. Scottish, Quadrille Set. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). The "Caledonian Quadrilles" consist of music from five popular Scottish melodies, for the five figures of the dance. The tunes include "My Love is but a Lassie Yet" (first figure), "Before I Was Married (1)" (second figure), "Banks of the Dee (1) (The) or "Hexham Races" (third figure), "When I Parted" (fourth figure) and ends with "White Cockade (The)." The entire quadrille set was entered into the mid-19th century music manuscript book of musician Lawrence Leadley, of Helperby, Yorkshire.
