OSCAR SHERWOOD "OS" SCHOLES. (1891-1984), originally from Kentucky, a "scratch farmer" who made his home in St. James, Arkansas. He learned to fiddle at the age of thirteen, in the very early 1900's. He was a well-respected musician locally and accounted the best fiddler in the St. James area. He died at Mountain View, Stone County, Arkansas.
