WILLOTT’S HORNPIPE [2]. American, Reel (cut time). USA, Missouri. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. No relation to “Willott's Hornpipe (2)” in Ryan’s/Cole’s. Drew Beisswenger (2008) notes a general melodic similarity to “Dubuque,” while the 2nd strain of this tune closely resembles that of “Lantern in a Ditch” and “Goodbye My Honey I’m Gone.” Mark Wilson notes a connection with “Johnson Boys.” Source Lee Stoneking played the reel in the key of 'C', while his son, Fred Stoneking, played it in 'D'.
