RIDING ON A LOAD OF HAY. AKA and see “Mrs. Ramsay of Barnton (2)," "Tim Guiheen's Polka.” Irish, Polka (2/4 or whole time). E Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB (Silberberg): AABB' (Carlin). A West Kerry polka, called “Port Dálaig (4)" after the musician who played it, is similar, especially in the first strain as are several other polkas such as "Séamus Cussen's (1)" and "Captain Moonlight's Army." The tune was also in the repertoire of Kerry fiddler Denis Murphy (1910-1974). It is an adaptation of biography:Duncan MacIntyre's Scottish strathspey “Mrs. Ramsay of Barnton (2)."
