WALTZ BY MRS. ANQUETIL OF SEVERNOAKS. English, Waltz (3/4 time). C Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. "Waltz by Mrs. Anquetil of Severnoaks" can be found in the mid-19th century music manuscript of William Winter[1], a shoemaker and violin player who lived in West Bagborough in Somerset, southwest England. The title may reference the town of Sevenoaks, Kent. There was a schoolmaster there by the name of John Baptiste Marie Anquetil (1802-1877), born in London to parents who fled the French Revolution. He married Eliza Gibbon in July, 1836, at Sevenoaks.
