O'KEEFFE'S DREAM [1]. AKA and see "Glentown," "Glentaun Reel," "Gleanntán Reel (1) (The)," "Glountane Reel (The)," "Leather Britches," "Little Peggy," "Lord MacDonald (4)," "Slanty Gart." Irish, Polka (2/4 time) or Reel (cut time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. A "O'Keeffe's Dream" is a polka modeled after the Scottish reel "Lord MacDonald (4)." It is sometimes played as a reel, as it was by Sliabh Luachra fiddler Denis Murphy, who paired it with the reels "New Post Office (2)" and "Humors of Galtymore (The)." The polka "Lackagh Cross (2)" has a first strain that is very similar to "O'Keeffe's Dream", however it is perhaps not a cognate tune.
