CONNIE WALSH'S SLIDE. AKA and see "Cúil Aodha Slide (The)." Irish, Slide (12/8 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Connie Walsh was a Sliabh Luachra fiddle player who emigrated to America. Sliabh Luachra accordion player Johnny O'Leary remembered only this one slide: "...he used always play that tune before--in any dance that was his first and only slide, I'd say, he had. He hadn't many more of them I'd say" [Moylan]. The accompaniment begins on the subdominant chord.
