BLACK EYED SUSAN [4].  AKA - "Black Ey'd Susan."  Scottish, Air (3/8 time). B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB.  The air is meant to accompany the song "To Delia on her drawing him to her Valentine" in Allan Ramsay's Tea Table Miscellany (1724, p. 304). The first stanza of the song goes:

Ye Powers! Was Damon then so blest
To fall to charming Delia’s share,
Delia, the beauteous maid possest
Of all that’s soft and all that’s fair?
Here cease thy Bounty, O indulgent Heav’n,
I ask no more, for all my wish is giv’n.
