REEL DU PONT DE L'ÉTANG [1], LE (Pond Bridge Reel). AKA - "Reel du Pond de l'Etang." AKA and see "Reel de Champs de bleuets (2)." French-Canadian, Reel (cut time). Canada; New Brunswick, Québec. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The tune is known as "Le reel du pont de l'etang" (Pond Bridge Reel) in northeast New Brunswick where it was in the repertories of Acadian fiddlers Merel Chiasson, Andre "à Toto" Savoie and Étienne Laroque, according to Devon Leger. The tune has other titles as well; Eric Favreau plays a Québec version entitled "Reel de champs de bleuets." See also the related "Joli à la California."
