MUSSEL BREAKDOWN (Reel des moules). Canadian, Reel. Canada, Prince Edward Island. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB'. "Mussell Breakdown"/"Reel des moules" was composed by Wellington, East Prince County, Prince Edward Island, Acadian-style fiddler Edward P. Arsenault (b. 1938). Curiously the first strain of "Mussel Breakdown" is quite similar to the first strain of another shellfish-titled tune, the Irish reel "Lobster (The)" (An Gliomach).
