INDERNYTIE'S RANT. AKA and see "Irvin Stiple," "Irvine Steeple." Scottish, Rant. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). John Glen (1891) finds the earliest printing of the tune in Neil Stewart's 1761 collection (p. 28). Instructions for a dance "Indernytie's Rant" appear in London publisher Thomas Preston's 24 Country Dances for the Year 1803.
