DONAWERT PASS. English, Country Dance Tune (cut time). G Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). One part. The melody appears in all four editions of John Young's Second Volume of the Dancing Master [1], first published in 1710. It also appears in Walsh and Randall's New Country Dancing Master, Second Book (London, 1710) and the three editions of Walsh's Second Book of the Compleat Country Dancing-Master (1719, 1735, 1749).

The title refers to the strategic Donawert Pass on the Danube, about ten miles from Blenheim where, in 1704, John Churchill, the Duke of Marlborough, won a decisive victory in the War of the Spanish Succession.
