LAGAN SLASHERS. AKA and see "Atholl Brae/Atholl Braes," "Drinking Reel (The)," "Drunken Tailor (The)," "Gallagher's Best," "League and Slasher," "Pigeon on the Pier (2)," "Pigeon on the Gate (1) (The)," "Reidy's Reel," "Scotch Braes (The)," "Wandering Tinker (The)." The Lagan is a river in northern Ireland which runs through Belfast, but it also refers to the locality of East Donegal/West Tyrone; the word itself refers to 'low-lying ground'.
