MISS KETTY HALL. AKA and see "Miss Katie Hall's Jig." Scottish, Jig. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA’BB’CC’AA’DD’AA’EE’AA’FF’AA’BB’. A two-part tune with four variation sets, in between which Gow directs the playing of the first part of the melody. Gow’s notation seems to indicated that a drone ‘A’ note be played at various times throughout the tune, esp. in the 2nd (‘B’) part. The variation sets printed by Gow are attributed to Biography:Sir Alexander Don and Mr. Nisbet of Dirleton, both amateur gentlemen fiddlers.
