BROSNA SLIDE [1], THE. AKA and see "Lonesome Road to Dingle (2)," "Trip to the Jacks." Irish, Slide (12/8 time). Ireland, Sliabh Luachra region of the Cork-Kerry border. G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. Three slides, "The Brosna Slide" [1], "Scartaglen Slide (The)" and "Padraig O'Keeffe's Favourite" are played together and are collectively known as "The Brosna Slides;" they are associated with Donal O'Connor according to Moylan (1994). They are also associated with the champion Brosna Céilí Band of North Kerry (winners of the 1972 All-Ireland title), who learned them from local Brosna musician Jack Cahill (Treoir). Source O'Leary sometimes adds a fourth tune to the set, "Nelly Mahony's."
