COLONEL H.F. CAMPBELL. Scottish, Strathspey. G Major. Standard tuning. AAB. The melody originally appeared in Misses White's 1797 collection. Colonel H.F. Campbell was an officer with the 3rd Battalion of the First, or Grenedier Guards, who saw action in the Mediterranean during the Napoleonic Wars. He was also an M.P. for Cromarty and Narin at the end of the 18th century.
