LYON'S FAVOURITE. AKA and see "Maurice Carmody's Favourite," "Morrison's Jig (1)," "Paddy Stack's Fancy Jig," "Stick Across the Hob (The)." Irish, Jig. E Dorian. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABC. The tune is almost universally known among Irish musicians as "Morrison's" or "Morrison's Jig", and is frequently played at sessions. The "Lyon's Favourite" title is ideosyncratic to source Johnny O'Leary -- the accordion player learned it (from fiddler Padraig O'Keefe) in Lyon's pub, Castleisland, County Kerry.
