MRS. ADIE. AKA - "Mrs. Adye." Scottish, Strathspey. B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AB (Cole, Surenne): AAB (Athole, Gow, Skye). Composed by Major William Logan, of a line of William Logan’s of Ayrshire. The Major was a well-known gentleman in Ayrshire and a highly esteemed convivial companion. He was skilled on the violin and was, it is said, an intimate of Niel Gow and Robert Burns. See “Annotation:Major Logan’s Frolic” for more on him.
