VALSE DE DUSON (Duson Waltz). Cajun, Waltz, USA, Louisiana. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA(Vocal)BBAABB(Vocal)BBAAAAB. Raymond Francois (1990) identifies Duson as a town west of Lafayette, Louisiana, named for a Saint Landry Parish sheriff, C.C. Duson. Duson is remembered for helping to bring the railroad to southwest Louisiana, laying out the town that bears his name and selling tracts. Related songs are Iry LeJeune's "Valse de Bayou Chene" and Lawrence Walker's "Valse qui m' Fait du Mal (La)."
