MILLADEN. Scottish, Strathspey. B Minor. Standard tuning (fiddle). AAB. This slow strathpsey was composed in 1891 by the great Scots fiddler-composer J. Scott Skinner (1843-1927), and appears in his Scottish Violinst (1900) and Harp and Claymore (1904) collections. It was dedicated to "J.C. Rennie Esq., Milladen, Mintlaw, a capital violinist and friend of the composer." The University of Aberdeen's Skinner site gives:

Milladen, the Mill of Aden, lies on the Ugie River, near Mintlaw, Aberdeenshire. A working mill is still there, where the Rennie family established one in 1798.
