BARN ELMS. English, "Old" Hornpipe (3/2 time). G Minor. Standard tuning. AABB. Barn Elms was a Georgian mansion and parkland in the London Borough of Richmond, the meeting place of the Kit-Cat club for many years when it was the home of Jacob Tonson the elder (1655/6–1736), a London bookseller and publisher.

The tune first appears in Walsh's New Country Dancing Master, 2nd book (London, 1710), reprinted in Walsh and Hare's 2nd Book of the Complete Country Dancing Master (London, 1719). It continued to appear in subsequent volumes through the fourth and last, printed in 1728.
