NATIONAL SCHOTTISCHE. AKA and see "[Pretty Baby]]," "Snyder's Clock," "Military Schottische." American, Schottische. E Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'B. The tune was printed as a banjo duet in S.S. Stewart's Banjo and Guitar Journal (1886), juxtaposed against the familiar melody "Home Sweet Home," a setting mirrored in the Glasgow-published Kerr's Merry Melodies (c. 1880's).
