NEW MAILCOACH, THE ("An Carbad-Litireac Nuad" or "Carbad Nuad na Litreaca"). Irish, Reel. D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB' (O'Neill/Krassen): AAB (O'Neill/1915 & 1850). The earliest sound recordings of the tune are both from 1929. One recording is by Joe and Mike Flanagan (accordion and banjo, respectively), where the reel is played as a fling as the middle tune of a medley entitled "Highland Fling Medley." The second recording from that year is by flute player Tom Morrison, whose title was "Boys of Mayo (The)."
