LADY JANE MONTGOMERY'S REEL. Scottish, Reel. A Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AA'B. The reel was composed by Edinburgh musician, teacher and music publisher William Shepherd. Shepherd was a business partner of Nathaniel Gow from the 1790's until his death in 1812. A melody called "Lady Jane Montgomery's Strathspey]]" was published by the firm in The Fourth Collection of Niel Gow's Reels (1800) around the same time as they issued Shepherd's Second Collection.
