NEW BUMPKIN. AKA and see "Honorable Colonel Hamilton's Delight (The)." Scottish, Jig (6/8 time). G Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABBCC'. The melody was originally Joseph Reinagle's "Honorable Colonel Hamilton's Delight," retitled by the Gows as "New Bumpkin." The 'New' in the title presumably is to differentiate it from the "[Old] Country Bumpkin (The)."
