NEWCASTLE HILL. AKA and see "Newcastle Hornpipe (1) (The)." Scottish, English, Canadian; Hornpipe or Clog. B Flat Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The hornpipe was composed by fiddler and renowned hornpipe composer biography:James Hill (c. 1815-c. 1860), a native of Dundee who spent most of his life at Gateshead, northeast England, near Newcastle, Northumberland. His title as "Newcastle Hornpipe." Don Messer called it "Newcastle Hill"
