O THIS IS NO MY AIN LASSIE. AKA - "This is no my ain house." Scottish, Air and Country Dance Tune (2/4 time). D Major. Standard tuning (fiddle). AABB. The title of a 1795 song by poet Robert Burns, set to the tune of "This is no my ain house."

I see a form, I see a face,
Ye weel may wi' the fairest place;
It wants, to me, the witching grace,
The kind love that's in her e'e.

Chorus:
This is no my ain lassie,
Fair tho, the lassie be;
Weel ken I my ain lassie,
Kind love is in her e're.

The tune was entered into the English music manuscript book of musician William Irwin as "Caledonian Hunt," set as a strathspey.
